The Lies We Tell Ourselves

January 22, 2010 § Leave a comment

Dear Elizabeth Edwards, my track record in the relationships department may not be stellar, but I do know when I’ve started lying to myself just to keep holding on to a crappy relationship. I also know that when that happens, it’s time to just cut my losses and go. Your husband may very well adore you, as you claim, but you can’t ignore the fact that there were a few hours he should have spent with you and your children that he chose to spend making a child with someone else. So, I dunno. What I do know is that people don’t spend time or money building monuments for martyrs anymore.
