When I started crafting and sewing, even my closest friends said WTF? I know it doesn’t seem like something I would do, but I am constantly surprising myself with the ideas I am getting and how motivated I am to actually do them (trust me, changing the channel used to be the most “work” I would do on weekends). Most importantly, how now I look at stuff and my first impulse is no longer “Buy!” but “Make!” Stitch Punk is one of those blogs that never ceases to amaze and inspire me. Best part is, these craftsters aren’t too stingy with their ideas and tips either. Have a looksee at their newly launched Lookbook and see how edgy embroidery and even can be (no, Grandma, it’s definitely not how you used to do it in your day).

My crafting ambitions are pretty modest. All I want to do is to never buy ready-made again, EVER! (Dear friends, that means all your future gifts will be handmade, just giving you a heads-up ;)) For some reason, I’ve been obssessed with owning a corset. Don’t ask, I don’t know! I just want one. So this post from smicksy at Craftster.org leaves me in awe. Isn’t it gorgeous? Hand-crafted, machine embroidered and the tree painted using a mixture of fabric paint and TEA! I will learn to do this . . . someday . . .

As a couch potato, anything that can keep me snug and warm while I launch into full season marathons of my favorite TV shows is a godsend. I was about to give in and buy a pair of these from H&M but here they are and all you need are an old sweater, flats you don’t wear anyway, a glue gun and some panache. Thanks for the tutorial urbanthreads!
